The 18th edition of “Terrell on the Law of Patents”, the leading practitioner text on UK patent law, has just been published by Sweet & Maxwell.  Chambers has been responsible for the production of Terrell for many years since it was first published in 1884, and twelve members of chambers contributed to this edition.  It is available to purchase from legal bookshops and also online at http://www.sweetandmaxwell.co.uk/Catalogue/ProductDetails.aspx?recordid=6666

Chambers is delighted to report that its senior clerk, Nick Hill, has recently been appointed as the Chairman of the Institute of Barristers’ Clerks for the next 3 years. The IBC has a number of committees working for its members and represents its member clerks on various Bar Council committees.   Chambers wishes Nick a successful term in office.

Chamber is pleased to announce that it has recently been appointed Legal 500 IP, IT and Media Set of the Year.  In giving the award Legal 500 stated: “Although its history is rooted in patent law, Three New Square wins this award for its successful diversification in recent years and increased involvement in soft IP, IT and media related disputes. With regards to the former, members appeared on both sides in Comic Enterprises v 20th Century Fox and Lush v Amazon.”

Chambers is delighted to welcome Georgina Messenger as a tenant.  Georgina has a degree in Natural Sciences from Clare College, Cambridge.  She spent her pupillage with Tom Hinchliffe, Simon Malynicz, Geoff Pritchard and Miles Copeland.  She is shortly to undertake a secondment with Allen & Overy.

 Three New Square's standard terms and conditions are changing, primarily to reflect the changes made to the COMBAR/City of London Law Society standard terms, but also to include overseas lawyers in the definition of “solicitors” in the contract.   From Monday 3 November 2014, new instructions to members of Three New Square will be accepted on the basis of our revised standard terms, which can be found on the "Important Information" page of this website or downloaded directly here.
