Three New Square is pleased to announce that the Rt Hon Sir Colin Birss has been appointed Master of the Rolls by His Majesty King Charles III, with effect from 1st November.

Sir Colin spent his entire career at the bar, including pupillage, in our chambers. He is currently Chancellor of the High Court, having previously served as a Judge of the Court of Appeal and Deputy Head of Civil Justice.

The Master of the Rolls is one of the UK’s most senior judges, second only to the Lady Chief Justice and is on the same level as the President of the Supreme Court.
