Chambers is delighted to announce that the Lord Chancellor has published the list of new appointments following the 2024 King’s Counsel Competition. Members of Three New Square IP congratulate Geoffrey Pritchard, who will be sworn in as King’s Counsel on Monday 24th March 2025, the full press release from the KCA can be seen here.
Geoffrey came to the bar with a PhD in Theoretical Geophysics. Since then, he has developed a practice which is split roughly 50:50 between highly technical patent matters and complex soft-IP and contractual matters. In recent years he has appeared mainly as leading counsel and has done so both in the High Court and Court of Appeal.
Geoffrey also sits as a Recorder in the Business and Property, Civil and Criminal Courts, and as an Appointed Person hearing appeals from the UK Registrar of Trade Marks. Geoffrey is an accredited mediator.
The award of King’s Counsel is for excellence in advocacy in the higher courts. It is made to advocates who have rights of audience in the higher courts of England and Wales and have demonstrated the competencies in the Competency Framework to a standard of excellence.
